Quality standards
What is checked before a product is listed, and what is not listed.
Tops and edges
Top thickness relative to span. Substrate stated: particleboard, MDF or plywood, with density. Edge banding type (PVC or ABS), thickness, and whether machine-applied.
Load ratings
Shelf capacity stated per shelf. Checked against shelf thickness and support type. Anti-tip kit must be in the carton.
Hardware
Drawer slides: full-extension, ball-bearing, rated load. Hinges, locks, leveling feet. Gas lifts on seating must carry a certification mark (BIFMA, SGS or TUV).
Finish
Color and grain matched within a series. Finish type stated: laminate, veneer, paint or solid wood.
Packaging
Corner and edge protection. Carton burst strength. Parts separated inside the box. Freight class confirmed for LTL items.
Assembly
Instructions in English. Hardware bagged and labelled. Pre-drilled holes aligned. Assembly time stated. Items that need professional installation are marked.
Not listed
- Load ratings without manufacturer documentation.
- Particleboard described as solid wood or veneer.
- Seating without gas-lift certification.
- Oversize items without corner protection.
- Products without a documented supply chain.
